Butternut pumpkin is a great option for this puree as it is easily digested, but whichever variety of pumpkin is available will work. Steaming fruit and vegetables is a great way to retain nutrients.
About 500gm pumpkin
1 ripe pear
Peel pumpkin and chop into pieces. Steam for about 10 minutes until almost tender. Peel, core and roughly chop the pear and add it to the steamer. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, or until the pumpkin is tender. Puree, mash or chop to your desired consistency.
